INTERCOSTAL
/ ˌɪn tərˈkɒs tl, -ˈkɔ stl /
adjective
1/ pertaining to muscles, parts, or intervals between the ribs.
2/ noting a structural member situated between or divided by continuous members, as frames or keelsons.
noun
1/ an intercostal muscle, member, or space.
The concept unites the human body with the human-made building. Both are complex structures, encapsulating many different functions happening all at once, hosting many systems working together in harmony.
’Intercostal’ describes the membrane between structures, the interstitial connecting space. It represents something that moves, reacts, sheathes, and protects the body. Our approach to structural design & the other services we offer is both technical and anatomical.
